Open government advocacy organizations Demand Progress and the Congressional Data Coalition have obtained and published 8,260 reports from the Congressional Research Service (CRS), a legislative branch agency that conducts policy research and analysis for members of the U.S. House and Senate. Though CRS reports are not classified, they typically are not available to members of the public. Demand Progress and the Congressional Data Coalition worked with a Republican and Democratic member of Congress to obtain the reports and make them available for bulk download.
