Visualizing the Most Exciting Moments of Euro 2016

Twitter has created a data visualization comparing every goal scored in the 2016 UEFA European Championship, called Euro 2016, and the resulting spike of tweets using the hashtag #EURO2016 to identify the most exciting moments of the tournament. Each point representing a goal is color coded based on how it affected the score of the game, such as whether or not it made a team take the lead or even the score, and users can sort the visualization by team and stage of the tournament. The most exciting goal of Euro 2016 based on Twitter’s data was Northern Ireland’s Niall McGinn’s goal guaranteeing his team’s victory against Ukraine on June 16.
