The Armed Conflict Location & Event Data Project, an initiative run by the University of Texas at Austin to study political violence, has published its latest series of data sets cataloging every instance of political violence and protesting in Africa from 1997 to 2015. The data include the date, location, involved actors, type of activity, fatalities, source of information, and additional notes for every recorded incident on the continent.
